Akamai and Fireclick Enter Into Strategic Alliance
Fireclick's patent-pending technology, Blueflame, speeds Web site performance by using real-time click-stream analysis to continually prime the browser cache one step ahead of the next mouse click. Downloading "most likely" page elements directly to a user's browser cache, Blueflame reduces average download times significantly. "Akamaizer" Software Adds Access to Fireclick's Blueflame
As one method for enabling the Akamai FreeFlowSM service, content providers use the Akamaizer tool to tag embedded Web objects for delivery via Akamai's global network, transforming their URLs into Akamai Resource Locators (ARLs). Akamai's sophisticated algorithms monitor the Internet on a real-time basis, understand the location of the requesting user and make intelligent decisions about the best and most efficient Akamai edge server from which to deliver content. Fireclick's unique Blueflame technology further accelerates the delivery of certain content over the last mile by pre-downloading that content from the Akamai global network directly to the user's browser.
Included as part of the agreement:

Companies form agreement to speed Internet content from origin sites to end users

The integrated Akamaizer software, available to content providers initiating Akamai's services, will now feature easy access to the Fireclick technology.
