Akamai becomes exclusive video streaming provider for the official web site of the British Open

Who:  Akamai Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: AKAM) has been selected by the Royal & Ancient Golf Club, the governing body of the British Open, as the exclusive streaming delivery provider for the Official Site of the British Open Championship [www.opengolf.com], which is being produced by TWIinteractive, the new media and technology arm of IMG. The millennium championship is being played on the 'storied' Old Course at St. Andrews, Scotland from July 20-23.
What:  By utilizing Akamai's FreeFlowSM Streaming service, the www.opengolf.com site will offer end users on-demand video streamed coverage of the British Open, including player interviews, behind the scenes features, press conferences, golden moments from the archives, and a daily wrap-up of each day's play. The British Open Championship is the oldest and most prestigious of golf's four major championship tournaments.
