Interactive Content To Accompany Features
[Paris] May 16, 2001 - For the launch of its online interactive film portal, Filmfestivals.com has selected Akamai Technologies, Inc.'s FreeFlowSM Streaming service to provide high-quality, reliable delivery of its films."Akamai's FreeFlow Streaming service delivers Filmfestivals.com's films and videos to its online audience with enhanced performance and reliability and optimizes the website's operation even during peak traffic periods," announced Filmfestivals president, Malo Girod de l'Ain, and COO Bruno Chatelin.
Filmfestivals.com has launched its online interactive film portal with the online world premieres of six new feature-length films for broadband users showcased during the Sundance, Rotterdam and Berlin film festivals.
The server's broadband portal, FilmfestivalsTV.com, will also netcast a wide range of online tools and content related to the six films to enhance the interactive screening experience. These will include, for each film, background, interviews with stars and filmmakers, stills, festival track records, dedicated forum, chat rooms, film quiz, and film soundtrack elements.

The first six films to be premiered online include films have won numerous awards at festivals running from Sundance to Moscow, San Sebastian, Karlovy Vary, and Geneva.
