Yahoo! continues use of Akamai's scalable content delivery and traffic management services to support global audience growth
CAMBRIDGE, MA, June 27, 2001 - Akamai Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: AKAM), the leading provider of distributed application and content delivery services, today announced that Yahoo! Inc. (Nasdaq: YHOO) has extended its service agreement to include Akamai's IP characterization service.Yahoo!, which has been working with Akamai since early 1999 as a charter customer to optimize delivery of content across the Internet, will take advantage of the Akamai EdgeScapeSM service to enhance Yahoo!'s customized ad serving capabilities. Yahoo!'s ad servers will integrate the Akamai EdgeScape data into its ad serving applications to increase advertising relevance. By providing more effective targeting, Yahoo! continues to enhance its ability to deliver greater value to its clients.
