Chairman and CEO George Conrades to Make Brief Remarks at 5:00 p.m. EDT Today
Cambridge, MA - September 24, 2001 - Akamai Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: AKAM), the leading provider of outsourced e-business infrastructure services and software, will hold a conference call today at 5:00 p.m. EDT with George Conrades, Akamai Chairman and CEO.Daniel Lewin, Akamai co-founder and CTO, who, as a passenger aboard American Airlines flight #11, was killed in the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001.
Conrades will discuss how the employees of Akamai, with on-going leadership from Tom Leighton, Akamai co-founder and Chief Scientist, are carrying Mr. Lewin's vision forward.
Conrades will also provide an overview of the unprecedented demand placed on the Internet in the wake of the national tragedy, Akamai's role in delivering content and information for its customers, and some implications of the national tragedy on the future of distributed computing on the Internet.
Akamai will not be making any financial disclosures on the conference call. Akamai plans to hold its third quarter 2001 financial results conference call on October 17th, 2001.
