Fourth quarter financial guidance to be reaffirmed

CAMBRIDGE, MA - November 28, 2001 - Akamai Technologies, Inc. Chairman and CEO George Conrades will discuss enterprise demand for Akamai's services and reaffirm the company's fourth quarter financial guidance today at the Credit Suisse First Boston annual technology conference. Akamai (Nasdaq: AKAM) is the leading provider of secure, outsourced e-business infrastructure services and software.

"Based upon continued strong demand for our services led by our flagship EdgeSuiteSM service, and despite the challenging macro economic sales environment, we expect that revenue in the current quarter will be in the previously-estimated range of $34-36 million, and normalized earnings per share are expected to be a loss of 38-40 cents or less, which continues our strong performance on the bottom line and is consistent with our fully-funded business plan," Conrades said. "We are pleased with the sales momentum we're seeing in the enterprise market for EdgeSuite, a service that makes it easier and less expensive for businesses to deploy and use Web-based applications."

The Credit Suisse First Boston annual technology conference is being held in Scottsdale, Arizona, and more information is available at http://www.csfb.com/conferences.
