Saatchi & Saatchi Deploys Akamai EdgeSuite for Enhanced Corporate Communications and Rich Content Exchange
One of the world's leading creative organizations with more than 7,000 employees in 82 countries and more than 1,000 clients, Saatchi & Saatchi required a flexible Web infrastructure solution that could seamlessly address its growing global enterprise communications needs across its corporate extranet. In addition, it required a secure, scalable, and globally distributed platform from which to off-load the delivery of its offices' rich-media content, including corporate documents as well as multimedia content, such as television and radio commercials, print advertisements, and interactive media.
"With a geographically dispersed network of offices and clients, EdgeSuite dramatically improves agency communications and collaboration through increased performance, scalability, and reliability of our Internet operations," said Laura Limbach, worldwide CIO, Saatchi & Saatchi. "Akamai, an important partner to Saatchi & Saatchi's evolving enterprise communications strategy, provides us with a unified platform for all of our enterprise content delivery needs, resulting in dramatically enhanced content exchange among our partners, clients, and employees."
Since using EdgeSuite, Saatchi & Saatchi has realized immediate benefits; in particular, end-user access to larger files, such as television commercials, has improved through EdgeSuite's distributed data delivery process. For an advertising network, this translates into increased productivity and less reliance on more traditional delivery methods. In addition, Saatchi & Saatchi has avoided costly international build-out of its existing Internet infrastructure by taking advantage of Akamai's massively distributed, in-place platform for its corporate communications needs.
"Akamai believes that enterprises will increasingly expand internal and external Web-based communications capabilities to meet the needs of their employees, customers, and business partners," said Michael Ruffolo, executive vice president, global sales, services, and marketing, Akamai. "Saatchi & Saatchi's use of EdgeSuite for corporate communications as well as for collaboration among its global users is testament to this growth, and we look forward to working with them on their innovative Web efforts."
